Internacional drew 2-2 with Guarany, in the first round of the 2025 Gaúcho Championship
On Wednesday (22), Internacional drew 2-2 against Guarany, in Bagé-RS, in the first round of the Campeonato Gaúcho 2025. Despite the stumble, coach Roger Machado approved the team’s debut and cited the factors according to which the match was liked.
“From a physical point of view, given that it was a debut, we managed to endure the entire match well. I think it was a balanced match. A debut which, given the opportunities, could have been decided for both sides. Depending on the situations, losses that we had, I think that’s what we could do at the moment, and we will improve game after game”, said the coach, who added:
“Today we managed to bring a team that fought, played at its best and understood the characteristics of the game. We will find many matches at this level, with this characteristic and we need to understand it as quickly as possible. The pitch was not in the worst conditions, on the contrary, I missed throwing the ball.”
In the first half Inter had two substitutions forced by injuries, with Bruno Gomes and Clayton. In the press conference, Roger Machado updated the situations of the midfielder and defender.
“They will have to be re-evaluated and tested. I know Clayton had an ankle and Bruno had something in his knee. It’s too early to say anything.”
Internacional returns to the field for the Campeonato Gaúcho next Saturday (25th), against Juventude, at 4.30pm, in Beira-Rio, for the second round of the state championship. The team led by Roger Machado is in Group A, together with Caxias, EC Pelotas and Ypiranga-RS.
