Walter Salles’ feature film will also compete in the categories of Best Actress, for Fernanda Torres, and Best International Film

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced, this Thursday, January 23rd, the nominees for the 97th edition of the Oscarwhich takes place in March, and I’m Still Here it received a nomination in the Best Film category, the main honor of the biggest cinema awards.

What is the story of I’m Still Here?

Based on the book of the same name by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, I’m Still Hereis set in Rio de Janeiro, in the early 1970s, amid the military dictatorship, and tells the story of Eunicemother of five children, who becomes involved in an endless search for the truth after her husband, Rubensbe taken away by undercover police officers and disappear.
