The defender is a starter in Ramon Menezes’ team, in the U20 team and will miss the Brazilian Super Cup on 2
One of Botafogo’s main names for the current season, defender Jair will not play for the Rio team yet, as he plays in the Brazilian Under-20 team. In the deal that brought him, striker Tiquinho Soares went to Santos and the value of the transfer is around R$89 million.
To date, in fact, no signature has been made official by Botafogo. Another name, therefore, on the agenda is that of the striker Artur, currently at Zenit, in Russia. As for Jair, he didn’t even return to Santos for pre-season.
Jair is under the command of Ramon Menezes and has been in Granja Comary since the beginning of January. Before traveling to Venezuela on the 19th, the team played two training matches, against Maricá and Olaria, winning both. The defender started both matches.
With the South American final scheduled for February 16th, Jair will not be available for the Super Cup final against Flamengo, which will be played on the 2nd, in Belém. Finally, if Brazil reaches the final of the tournament, the defender will return for the first match of the Recopa Sul-Americana, scheduled for February 20, against Racing, in Argentina.
