Despite the claim, Forbes estimates place the artist’s net worth well under one billion
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has made a bold statement that he has returned to the elite billionaire club.
In a recent Instagram post, the rapper and entrepreneur revealed that, according to business valuation firm Eton Venture Services, his net worth is estimated at $2.77 billion. However, Forbes estimates remain more modest, placing Ye outside this financial level.
Last Thursday (23rd), Ye took to his Instagram to share the valuation made by Eton Venture Services. According to the company, the artist’s net worth consists of his vast music portfolio and exclusive ownership of the Yeezy brand, famous for its collaborations with Adidas and other market giants.
“As of 2025, Ye’s net worth is $2.77 billion, as confirmed by Eton Venture Services“, we read in the publication.
Enthusiastically, the artist mentioned the introduction of his hit “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” from the album Degree (2007), subtitled: “LA LA LA LA.” Reaction on social media was immediate, with fans and music industry figures, including rapper E-40, congratulating Ye on his rumored return to the billionaire club.
However, the claim raised doubts. Billboard reported that it had attempted to confirm the review directly with Eton Venture Services, but had not yet received a response. Despite the enthusiasm of Ye and his followers, controversy over his financial situation persists.
Ye: Divergent estimates and the impact of disrupted partnerships
According to Forbes, Ye is no longer among the billionaires. After a series of controversial statements in 2022, culminating in the severing of partnerships with brands such as Adidas, Balenciaga and Gap, the rapper’s net worth was reduced to $400 million.
At the time, these companies accounted for a significant portion of his earnings, especially the fruits of his Yeezy brand, developed in collaboration with Adidas.
Even before these controversies, Ye disputed Forbes’ ratings. In 2021, when the publication estimated his net worth at around $1.5 billion, he insisted that his fortune was around $7 billion.
Now, with the new estimate from Eton Venture Services, Ye suggests his return to the top is a fait accompli, despite the lack of confirmation from independent sources.
If the latest valuation is true, Ye would surpass Jay-Z as the richest rapper alive. However, without official data to validate his claim, the statement should be taken with caution.
Ye’s trajectory in business and music continues to be marked by ups and downs, but one thing is certain: he hasn’t lost his ability to generate headlines and get people talking about him.
It remains to be seen whether Eton Venture Services or other independent sources will confirm the artist’s statements, consolidating or denying his position among billionaires.
