Boavista reaches an agreement with Caio Zanardi and has no coach in Carioca


The club and the coach have reached a common and defined agreement leaving the commission




Boavista announced, on Friday (24), that coach Caio Zanardi and assistant Caio Junior are no longer part of the team’s technical command, after a decision of mutual agreement. The duo took command of the Saf Club in early November for the Carioca championship. After four games, however, they chose to leave. Rodney Gonçalves will then assume the function in a provisional way, assisted by Vinicius Do Valle and Leandrão.

In the first four rounds of the Guanabara Cup, Boavista adds only a defeat, which took place in Maricá. Squarema’s team beat Flamengo on his debut and two consecutive draws arrives, with Vasco and Sampaio Corrêa. At the moment, the team occupies seventh place, a point behind the G4, a qualifying area for the Carioca semifinal.

In addition to Carioca, Boavista has the Serie D of the Brazilian championship to play in 2025. The national competition should start on April 13 and will have its great final on September 28th.

In the end, Boavista returns to the field next Monday (27), against Nova Iguaçu, at 18 hours (Brasilia), at the Jânio Moraes stadium, for the fifth round of the Guanabara Cup.
