The discovery was made at the Serra Da Capivara National Park, in Piauí

The first artistic record of a kiss in history may have been made in Brazil. Who celebrated the fascinating discovery was the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBIO). On social networks, the agency revealed that a rock painting that represented two people in an act of affection was found in the Serra Da Capivara National Park in Piauí.

“The first kiss of humanity”, announced ICMBIO in the Instagram declaration. The news is together with many other designs recorded in the caves for the extent of the park. Currently, the site hosts “the largest concentration of rocky paintings known in the Americas”, according to the Institute.

The difference this time was the action represented in the figures. In addition to daily movements, the paintings have discovered that they show affection between humans, such as sexual acts, kisses and hugs.

“Made with natural pigments, such as iron and coal oxides, they have a surprising duration thanks to the dry climate and the characteristics of the sandstone rocks”, explains a publication made by ICMBIO.

The Serra Da Capivara National Park is an open file in the history of humanity. There, there are rocky paintings dated up to 50,000 years. Through its importance, the space was recognized by UNESCO in 1991 as a world heritage.
