Acclaimed Kevin Hart is no exception, having spent years trying to break in before landing on an ensemble comedy. He thinks like a man, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary. I’ll be back later; I got a callback. They remember me. I call my manager, “Dave, they want me back.” [He’s like] It’s a reminder. Okay, my friend. You have it. ‘ [I’m like,] “Fuck, I get it.”
Given the actor’s talent, we understand why he would be sure to land the role. And, of course, the skilled actor was more than sure he would get it after agreeing with the casting director. Unfortunately, he was surprised when he saw rap star Bow Wow waiting for him in the audition room. While he spoke in more detail of the moment, the Jumanji alum recalled seeing the rapper for the first time.
I am tall, I am confident. I enter the room, Bow Wow is in the room. I’m like, ‘What’s Bow Wow doing here right now?’ I’ll never forget, Bow Wow wore an oversized sweater and durag. “What’s Bow Wow doing here?” On this side, I didn’t know I was wearing a shirt, nobody told me to wear a shirt, I came here with a regular shirt.
Kevin Hart doesn’t quite look like the person who gets easily flustered, but it looks like the details of the costume got him. And finally, it looks like he did a great job with the audition. However, the comedian soon realized that he could lose the role of Bow Wow, but he kept hoping for as long as possible:
I remember walking in, fucking kill. left [like,] “Okay, see you later, mate.” I didn’t know Bow Wow at the time. I’m going out, I’m probably in the third stage of coming out. Bow Wow walks into the room, all I hear is “Hey!” What’s going on there? He reads? I stay on the steps for a moment, they die, they leave the roof. i was reading with kevin [Connolly]. Okay, they don’t call me back and I keep calling and I just remember seeing Entourage and seeing Bow Wow do the scene and I thought, ‘I lost the role because of fucking Bow Wow.
Kevin Hart may not have landed the role, but years later he was able to enjoy an aspect of HBO’s comedy after meeting Mark Wahlberg. Hart knew the show was based on Wahlberg and his real-life circles, but it wasn’t until he teamed up with the actor that he got to see their dynamic up close. Apparently meeting real people, the characters were based on the “impressed” comedian. However, that didn’t stop him from hilariously giving “F-you’s” to Wahlberg for not choosing it.
It’s interesting to think about how things would have turned out for the comic had he gotten the role. At this point, however, I don’t think I can get too sad, given how things have turned out. However, I don’t mind seeing him smash Mark Wahlberg’s ribs with good bombs.
I’m sure it’s the kind of dynamic he had while working on the set of his new movie (but not in the gym because Kevin Hart isn’t interested in training with Mark Wahlberg). personal time is expected to reach the transmitter in 2022.
