Comedian revealed that Kim did not go to the joke about his father, Robert Kardashian Sr.
Amy Schumer revealed that it contacted Kim Kardashian Before including a joke about his late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.in the movie Medium(Kinda Pregnant)which recently debuted in Netflix (via People).
In the scene in question, Schumer’s character, Lainyread a story for children, taken from a fictional magazine called Profile. In the stretch, she says:
Once upon a time there was a family of beautiful, beautiful princesses named Kardashian. And they lived in a palace that their father bought when defending a killer.
During your participation in The Howard Stern ShowSchumer said he made a point of warning Kim before including the joke:
I called Kim Kardashian. I said I wanted to make this joke and asked if she would care. And she didn’t care. How cool is she? She said, ‘Yes, do that about my father defending a killer.’ She was super quiet about it.
Robert Kardashian Sr.’s involvement in the OJ Simpson trial
Robert Kardashian Sr.who died in 2003was a close friend of OJ Simpson and acted as one of the defense lawyers of the former football player in his trial for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldmanin 1994. The case became one of the most media in the history of the United States.
OJ Simpson was acquitted of the accusations in 1995but the trial is still the target of controversy. The former athlete passed away in April 2024to the 76 years.
What to expect from Medium?
Besides starring the movie, Amy Schumer coescribed the script with Julie Paiva. The comedy is directed by Tyler Spindel and production of Adam Sandler.
The plot follows Lainyan English teacher in Brooklyn who, envious of her best friend’s pregnancy, decides to wear a false pregnant woman’s belly. However, things go out of control when she knows the man of her dreams and ends up trapped in a growing lie.
The cast has names like Jillian Bell, Forte Will, Damon Wayans Jr., Brianne Howey, Alex Moffat, Joel David Moore, Lizze Broadway, Urzila Carlson and Francis Benhamou.
In an interview with PeopleSchumer described the film as “hilarious and extremely related”adding:
Our society loves to make women feel like they are failing. This story shows women like human beings who try to make the right choices for themselves and have fun along the way.
