Black Adam vs Superman? Dwayne Johnson approves of the comparison

Actor Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, will play Black Adam in the upcoming DC movie, talked about possible battles for his character and highlighted one with Superman.

In an interview with collider, Johnson commented on exciting cinematic matchups and how important it is to give fans what they want to see. The actor talked about how in “Black Adam,” Warner Bros. tried to go beyond the obvious by “digging deeper” into the DC comic universe to introduce the Justice Society.

“They love the Justice Society, Doctor Doom, Hawkman, Cyclone and these are just the characters we have decided to introduce soon, but there are a lot more opportunities for us to build the DC universe with new characters,” Johnson explained.

The actor then went on to talk about the possible clashes that can be highlighted. “But beyond that, listen to the fans and make sure we create the exciting matchups they want to see. Black Adam vs: Fill in the blank.

Next, Collider offered a name to put in this blank – how about Superman? “That’s it. That’s it,” the actor said. “You can fill in the blank!”.

While it’s encouraging to see Dwayne Johnson talk about a showdown between Black Adam and Superman that would be pretty awesome to see in theaters, there’s no indication that it will happen anytime soon. Henry Cavill, who was rumored to be appearing on the DC panel at San Diego Comic-Con, has not shown up and his future as Superman remains open.

“Black Adam” will be released in theaters on October 20th.
