In the cinema, it sometimes happens that some feature film spent in the offspring is located by the majority of viewers from the simplified title, and that their original title is clearly forgotten by the general public.
This is an instance of the Star War (named Star Wars Episode IV – a new hope to better integrate it into George Luke Saga), at night of masks (which we generally find in the name of Halloween), or another famous slasher in the late 1980s, which absolutely no one Calls his true title.
Baby play or chuck?
Director Tom Holland (nothing in common with Spider-Man) in 1989, this is a child’s game, or more precisely to get the name that most fans today give.
The first opus of a productive horror saga, in which the young boy received a birthday gift, a strange spoken doll that is populated by the spirit of a murderer, the film really came out in the theaters with the original title of the children’s play (French version, Breeze).
Two other job title
In the end, it is the name of the evil doll – so awesome that it returned to 6 other feature films and series – which remained in the collective imagination and ended that the original title was completely overshadowed. So, for the most part, when you want to play a baby for someone, we tell them “Chuck” or “Chuck’s doll”.
Note that during its production Tom Dutch film was given two other work titles: Not included in the battery (Which eventually disassembled because it is very close to Steven Spielberg’s science fiction project) and A friend of blood.
Finally, it was a child’s play that ended in large letters of a feature film cinema poster, but who quickly stole its terrible protagonist.
Do you have other examples of movies that you never call their official title?
