His name is Osgood Perkins, and if his name doesn’t tell you much, he is one of the most sought after directors in the horror cinema. We are obliged to him with Blackcoat’s daughter, Gretel & Hansel, Longlegs with Nicolas Cage and recently Monkey, currently in the building.
The filmmaker was swimming in the Hollywood industry from birth and taking this passion for horror, Osgud Perkins, from his father, actress Anthony Perkins. In 1960, the film star gave its properties to one of the largest perpetrators on the big screen, with the normal bite of Alfred Hitchcock’s psychosis.
Heavy heritage
In the skin of the Motel Manager, the signs of Anthony Perkins, almost instantly, become a horror icon. Her character, as a psychopath, with the duplication of a person, relies so much on her skin that she turns three more other luxuries – one, including psychosis 3, which she realized in 1986.

Distribution met with Osgood Perkins and we asked him how his father had affected his taste in the genre of the genre:
“This is the chance of such a model. This can be considered as a huge pressure or as a pride. The more I look at her in her psychosis, more impressive, deeply modern, sensitive, so rich and risky. A person who opens the path before me is a privilege.“
Tragic death
In the rest of our interview the director emphasizes the chance to succeed: “Today it is good to make movies that people like, right? This is a goal to make movies that people appreciate and that they want to go, especially when it is difficult to bring people into the movie.“
Parents ‘topics occupy an important place in Osgood Perkins’ cinema, and this is once again the case in the monkey. The director lost his parents in tragic conditions. Anthony Perkins died of AIDS complications in 1992 at the age of 60. Osgood Perkins was only 18 years old. Less than ten years later, her mother, actress and photographer Barry Beranson died on the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001.
