High School Musical: The star of the original trilogy is coming to the Disney + series!

Wildcats, put your heart into the game! Returning this summer for Season 3 under the sign of nature and, of course, under the music, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series continues the spirit of the original trilogy more than 16 years after its first Atlantic run. Film directed by Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.

The first episode is available this Wednesday, July 27 Disney+Fans of the franchise are in for a big treat: Corbin Bleu, who played Chad Danforth, Troy Bolton’s best friend, visits the Wildcats as they vacation at Camp Shallow Lake in California.

The American actress is not the only star to join the series. Alongside him we also find a familiar face to Disney Channel fans from his role in Hannah Montana: Jason Earles. In this case, both trusted the AlloCiné microphone.

AlloCiné: Corbin, how did it feel to rediscover the fairytale world of High School Musical?

Corbin Blue: It was amazing, I was extremely happy. I couldn’t have had a better experience for my return. To be surrounded by Tim Federlet and everything he’s put together, to work with all the actors on the show, to have the chance to come back and work with Jason again.

The latter, in particular, impressed me, in addition to meeting all these new people, the real target. It couldn’t be more perfect. I love the story arc of my character on screen and I got to participate in a fantastic musical number. I think the audience will be surprised!

AlloCiné: Speaking of music, Jason, can we expect to hear your song in the series?

Jason Earles: No, it’s not a song for me! Every now and then I dance a little in the background. I’m here to make people laugh rather than entertain with music.

AlloCiné: Can you tell us a little more about your characters?

Corbin Blue: I play myself but a distant version of myself and Jason plays a completely different person, but there is a little wink and hint that Corbin and Jason are friends and have worked together in real life…

Jason Earles: It’s a meta show, and we made it even more meta with some interactions between me and Corbin. I play camp director Dewey Wood and Corbin plays Corbin Blue, so there are obviously some funny moments between us.

Corbin Blue: I end up talking about Jason Earles on the show, the fact that I’ve worked with him in the past, and what it means to me to be in front of Jason as Dewey Wood. It’s very concentrated, I love all those moments.

AlloCiné: Did you watch previous episodes before filming?

Corbin Blue: I watched the first two seasons. To begin with, because I wanted to, because it was an important part of my life and I wanted to see how the story continued, but also to know where my place was and what I could bring to the series.

Jason Earles: I was sort of a coach/mentor to the cast for the first two seasons, so I had the opportunity to follow all the talent behind the scenes. It was nice to have the chance to be on screen and play with them. I had a pretty good idea of their reactions as actors, so it was really fun to be on that side of the camera for once.

Season 3 of High School Musical starring Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, Matt Cornett and Sophia Wiley airs weekly on Disney+ with a new episode every Wednesday.
