Questioned this BbcThe interested party responded in 1969, when he would just shoot the West, Andrew McLean Chizumi:
“It was where I was better to be the best”
“It wasn’t interested in doing the West. It was where I was better. I was doing 1.93 meters, which was really great at the time.
In other words, Wayne is not young roles, whose physical physics has more dedicated it to Western context than novels. But beyond its credibility in this genre, there was also a practical reason why Wayne was often found in the West, still related to its physics:
“At that time, they didn’t spend as much as they are today; for double programs, they expected you to be sufficiently solid to do some things. I went into that category. So I started with that.”
Western physics and physical Westerners
Double programs were these cinema sessions that offered two films, often a B series, followed by interviews and a series of two B series, most often thematic, for example, two Western or two science fiction films. As John Wayne reminds us, B films were quickly filmed for a very small budget, and the chief actor of these films, especially the Westerners, was often a real cowboy or at least somebody knows how to spoil the horse.
Of course, the stuntman’s case already existed, and in the case of Vaine, it is often named Yakima Cant, who held the most dangerous waterfalls on the Duke.
John Wein shot more than fifty from this B series in 1931 and 1939, with most of the West, before John Ford’s fantastic journey has shown the public as studios that he could make films with a larger budget.
