“I haven’t played in the movie for 6 years”: Juliet Lewis returns to the intense West that is available in France

Since she showed a screen screen in Martin Scorsese’s living nerves in 1991, Juliet Lewis was often upright, in the roles of dark, organic and often bad roles, from which she made her trademark during her career.

Juliet Lewis in a charismatic evil

In the snow in the blood, Juliet Lewis portrays a violent killer, nicknamed “Cut the Bill”, who kidnapped Lula (Esme Cred-Mills), Jackie’s sister (Levon Hockey, son of Ethan Hawk and Uma Turman).

The latter calls for a powerful bonuse hunter Reginald jones (Peter Dinklage) serving its salvation. Long hunting through Texas leads them to a big thick, cursed forest that everyone is afraid of.

The throat cut is not just sympathetic, it has flaws, the childhood made of violence and psychological wounds, which it exerts through its scars and its rough voice, giving it to the man in the eyes of others. And Juliet Lewis invested in his interpretation of the body and the soul.

“I created a lot of things to do with the character. The voice was the first thing that came to my mind. With that role, I could do so much.

It was important for the actor to interpret himself because he never chooses his roles by accident because he always believes in. In the sense that this can sometimes spoil the paths between fiction and reality.

“I don’t want the public to see the actor. I want people to believe that I am that person. And for most time, people think I’m a character I play. “

But the character of the cut throat was a real challenge for Juliet Lewis. “This character was probably one of the most difficult things I have ever done because I have to believe that I’m like a man“He explained.

Juliet Lewis then worked on her character and gave the material to enrich her performance so as not to get into the cartoon, but to maintain part of humanity.

“With a few details that I received on his past and in the background, I created a lot to discuss. Also, at the time of living at the time, he had great difficulties and had everything on his horse. He practically lives on a horse and on a heavy floor, so I have to taste the test. ”

A long -awaited project

Blood in the snow is the West, written by Chris Kelly (script by the series of brilliant Bansi and preacher) and is directed by Eliot Leicester (Blitz, Aftermath, Nightingale). This is the adaptation of Joe Lansdal’s novel, published in 2013, which will bring us to Texas in the early 20th century.

This film is a very long project, during which Peter Dinklage has been attached since 2014! Years later, the blood in the snow began its preparation in 2020 before stopping the world pandemic.

Until 2023, the film was finally introduced by Juliet Lewis’s arrival, who changed Noom Rafais at the same time. And the draft passion gathered the whole team around the Peter Dinklag and eventually gave them everything to give respect to the project:

“There was a team spirit. On the one hand, I had not played in the movie for six years, I think it was important.

The pressure I put on myself is on my own. I’m still looking for transcendence in my acting game. I want it to come from my gut. I put great pressure on this role. I could do a lot of things, not enough, and I had the right equilibrium. Extreme roles are not easy. ”
