After sending Guarani to the penalties in the quarterfinals, Timon was eliminated by San Paolo in the game that was worth the place in the final, 2-1, and he did not return to the decision. The final of that year was won by Palmeiras, after becoming an adverse score of 3 to 1 on the round trip, winning the return 4-0.
In 2021, the rival was different but the end was the same. After easily exceeding Inter Limeira in the quarter-finals phase 4-1, the Corinthians ended up losing against Palmeiras 2-0, which that year would still have lost the final against San Paolo.
Timão’s last result in the state took place in 2019, when he won the three -stroke consecutive championship and reaching the 30th title, being, in insulation, the largest state champion.
In the 21st century, the Corinthians were in the semifinal of Paulista on 13 occasions, qualifying in nine of them and leaving the champion in seven of these.
In the period, Santos was ahead in 2001 and 2019, with Timon who reached the final on both occasions. First of all, 1-1 draws in the first round and the 2-1 victory over the way back. And in 2019, the Corinthians won the 2-1 trip and lost their return 1-0, but they qualified in the penalty for the final.
