Russia expel two British diplomats while it comes to ties with the United States

Russia accused two British diplomats in Spy on Monday and gave them two weeks to leave the country, strengthening the descending trajectory of Moscow diplomatic relations with Europe, even while negotiating the restoration of ties with the United States.

The United Kingdom Foreign Ministry rejected the accusations against its diplomats as “unfounded”.

Moscow was annoyed by the continuous military support of the United Kingdom to Ukraine and the recent statements of Prime Minister Keir STmerr on the positioning of British boots on the ground and planes in the air in Ukraine as part of a possible peace maintenance force.

The expulsions also occur days after three Bulgarians were considered guilty in a Court of London to be part of a Russian spy unit directed by the fugitive of Wirecard Jansalek to surveillance in an US military base and against other people addressed to Moscow.

The two British seem to be the first western diplomats to be expelled from Russia since Moscow and Washington began the interviews to restore the staff of the employees of the respective ambassadors, which have been reduced by expulsions of retaliation, part of the rapprochement of Donald Trump with the Kremlin who alarmed the European allies.

Similar expulsions have drastically reduced the functioning of the Russian embassies in all western and western missions in Russia since President Vladimir Putin sent tens of thousands of soldiers in Ukraine in 2022.

The Russian Federal Security Service said that the two British diplomats provided false information when they had obtained permission to enter the country and “identified signs of intelligence and subversive work” they had done, compromising Russian safety.

The Kremlin said that Russia’s intelligence services were doing everything you need to protect national security.

In response to Moscow’s decision, the United Kingdom Foreign Ministry said in a declaration: “It is not the first time that Russia has accused the harmful and unfounded accusations against our team”.

The Russian Foreign Ministry claimed to have defined a representative of the British Embassy on the expulsions and complained that the diplomats were employed “not wrapped” of the intelligence services of the United Kingdom, something that Moscow would not have tolerated.

The ministry said that “he will answer the same way” if London now decides to “climb” the situation.

The relationships between the United Kingdom and Russia have fallen to the lowest level of the post -war period since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. The United Kingdom joined subsequent waves of penalties against Russia and provided weapons to Ukraine.
