After TIFF headlined its 18th gala show at Roy Thomson Hall, the festival reserved the red carpet for Hubert Davis. frozendocumentary about black hockey players, produced by Drake; dear alice the Mary Nye psychological thriller, directed by Anna Kendrick; Gabe Polski’s Frontier Epic Kasaban crossing, in which he plays Nicolas Cage; and Francesca Archibugi Hummingbird, Front row by Nani Moretti, Berenice Bejo and Pierfrancesco Favino.
Toronto returns for the 47th edition, which will take place from September 8 to 18, in person, with Hollywood stars on red carpets and in theaters after a two-year delay due to the pandemic. “With stories spanning six continents and unmissable performances, this lineup offers the rich experience we’ve been waiting for all year. The cinema is alive. Red carpets are back. And the best audience in the world awaits them in Toronto,” TIFF Executive Director Cameron Bailey said in a statement.
