Snow White Cinema-Action almost reaches perfection, but it does not come to the previous adaptations of Disney, the novelty, which is already playing in Brazilian theaters, does not yet reach all its potential for writing

Better than previous adaptations of Disney, the novelty, which is already on display in Brazilian theaters, still does not reach all its potential

First Disney Princess, Snowwit finally embark on the company’s proposal to re -present its stories and gets a live-actionwhich reaches Brazilian theaters from this Thursday (20). But the news, starring Rachel Zegler(Hunger Games: The Song of Birds and Serpents), surpasses the – harshly criticized – previous adaptations of the studio, as Mulan (2020) and The little mermaid (2023), or is it just another slot fighter from Mickey’s house?

In history, the Bad queen (Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman), jealous of the beauty of Snowwit (Rachel Zegler), tells you to kill her. However, when your plan does not work, the girl ends up living with seven magic friends in the forest. Determined to get rid of the young man, the Queen disguises and the poison, putting the princess’s life in the hands of a young rebellious Robin Hood.

As in others live-action, Snowwit It appeals to nostalgia while seeking to captivate a new audience, but cannot be moving or sincere. The narrative tries to merge what is already known about the princess with repaginations – like today controversial kiss between a Snowwit Disagreed and his enchanted prince – which is good at certain points, but does not talk totally with current speeches.

The feature dares and gets it right by distancing itself from the classic, avoiding becoming an exact copy of the 1937 animation. The dwarfs, for example, are now mystical beings of the woods, avoiding a controversy that came about as soon as the live-action It was announced. Another positive point is the story of the enchanted prince: here, he loses the title and becomes Jonathan (Andrew Burnap, In the name of heaven), a brave and heroic boy, who crosses the protagonist’s path.

However, visually, the news suffers: the whole construction of the fantastic universe of Snowwit are artificial – a problem already noted in other productions, such as The Lion King (2019) and The little mermaid – And it is visible that the whole story was shot in a studio, frustrating the viewer, who cannot completely immerse this world, besides dealing with disappointing and caricatures, and a movie that, ultimately, proves to be heartless.

To “help get worse”, the performances of Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot They are not the best. As Snowwit, Zegler It exaggerates the role of good and innocent young lady, sounding false at certain times. Gadotin turn, it is great to “make a card”, but it suffers at more dramatic moments. The only one who is saved is Andrew Burnapwhich has charisma and a gallant manner capable of conquering the public.

Even without a pleasant pace and convincing development, Snowwit It can please the less demanding, who are just looking for light fun for the weekend. However, for the princess fans, the news can share opinions.
