The victim had burned 60% of the body after the fire reaches the basement
A 30 -year -old man was seriously injured after an explosion followed by a fire reached the basement of a residence in Caxias do on Sunday evening (23). The accident occurred at the Rua Jose Sartori advertising, between the Planalto and Bela Vista neighborhoods, around 7:15 pm.
According to the reports collected on the scene, the victim was preparing a barbecue near a motorcycle when the vehicle would have exploded suddenly. The flames spread rapidly, consuming the lower floor of the house, but did not reach the main part of the residence.
The firefighters teams were fired and used two trucks to contain the fire. The man, who suffered from burns in about 60% of the body, received the emergency room from Samu and was sent to the general hospital, where his health is considered serious.
The military brigade was also on the spot to support the occurrence. The causes of the explosion are still under investigation by the authorities.
