Two days before the great final of the Paulist championship, the Paulista Federation responded to a letter from St. Paul on the semifinal penalty in the duel against Palmeiras. The entity admitted the error in the offer that led to the goal of eliminating the tricolor of the state.
“The FPF includes that the field referee should have been called to review the VAR and that the sign of penalty was wrong,” said President Realdo Carneiro Bastos, in an extract from the letter sent to the club.
The document is an answer to the letter sent by Sao Paulo on 11, the day after the game. Tricolor threatened to play the next edition of the championship without his main players and said that the Federation treated the club with contempt.
In another trait, Bastos said he trusted the good character of the referees Flávio Rodrigues de Souza and Rodrigo Guarizo, Var at that moment. The Federation has promised improvements in the arbitration and wishes players to decide the games.
“We will continue to look for the qualification of the referees, with the aim of minimizing the wrong ideas and that the games are always decided by the protagonists of football: athletes,” he said.
