‘Yellowjackets’ will have season 2 after its shocking end

The mystery is over, isn’t it? The first season of the thriller ‘yellowjackets‘ ended with the simultaneous premiere of its final episode in the US and Spain thanks to Movistar+, a channel that, from now on, will have all the episodes on demand.

Nominated for the Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Drama Series, this survival story is signed by the creators and producers of ‘narcs‘ and ‘Narcos: Mexico‘, Ashley Lyle Y bart nickersonwho act as executive producers.

Secrets sealed by a pact, unexpected reunions and pending accounts with the past have resurfaced in each of the episodes of ‘yellowjackets‘, starring Melanie Lynskey (‘Castle Rock’), juliet lewis (‘Camping’), Christina Ricci (‘It all started with her’, ‘Sleppy Hollow’, ‘The Ice Storm’) and Tawny Cypress (‘Indelible’). The cast is completed Ella Purnell (‘Sweetbitter’), Samantha Hanratty (‘Shameless’), Sophie Thatcher (‘Prospect’), Jasmine Savoy Brown (‘The Leftovers’), sophie nelise (‘The Book Thief’), Steven Kruger (‘The Originals’) and Warren Cole (‘Shades of Blue’).

In the final chapter we have seen how the girls, still in the forest. they were facing the consequences of everything that happened at the party. Twenty-five years later, at a homecoming reunion, Misty, Shauna, Taissa and Natalie make their own attempt to “heal” the past, but is it all over? It seems not.

Showtime has already confirmed that ‘yellowjackets‘ will have a second season, which will be available soon on Movistar+.

For those of you who are a little lost, we remember that the series introduces us to Misty, Natalie, Taissa and Shauna, four of the (un)lucky members of a youth women’s soccer team who survive a plane crash in the middle of nowhere. Nobody knows what happened there until they were rescued and, twenty-five years later, each one has built her own life and what happened is not talked about. But there are secrets that cannot be kept forever and, while some insist on settling pending accounts, others will do whatever it takes to keep what really happened in that place under lock and key.

The series chronicles their complex journey, from their early days surviving as a team to the inevitable separation into savage and ruthless clans. Jumping from one era to another, mixing psychological horror with some action and youth drama, ‘yellowjackets‘ proves, once again, that the past is never in the past and that what began deep in the woods is far from over.
