The president should participate in the dinner offered by the emperor on Tuesday evening
The Japanese emperor Naruhito received the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva At the Imperial Palace in Tokyo during a welcome ceremony on the night of Monday 24, for the time of Brasilia.
Lula is an official visit to increase commercial relations with the fourth largest economy in the world.
At the reception ceremony at the imperial residence, the first official commitment of the president in Japan, Lula passed the honor guard and greeted the authorities together with the emperor. The First Lady Rosângela da Silva, the Janja, accompanied the president to the meeting.
Tuesday evening, the emperor Naruhito and his wife, the imperator Masako, will offer a state banquet in Lula, a gesture that had no state of state from Donald Trump in 2019.
Accompanied by a delegation of about 100 entrepreneurs, Lula intends to strengthen commercial relations with Japan to look for alternatives on American rates and avoid China’s excessive dependence.
The Asian giant is currently the largest commercial partner in Brazil, with a total trade of 160 billion dollars in 2023. Japan, on the other hand, is its eleventh commercial partner.
The president wants to increase Brazilian exports, from meat to planes from the Embraer aeronautical producer, and discuss a possible agreement between Japan and Mercosur.
The company also plans to discuss a joint project to develop biocarbulants with Ishiba in front of the Cop30 climatic dome in the city of Belém.
The Brazilian president will leave Japan on Thursday for another state visit to Vietnam, also with the aim of expanding markets and investments. /AFP
