We present an exclusive clip of the long-awaited ‘I’m going to have a good time’, the musical to the rhythm of songs by Hombres G which will take us back to 1989 to show us the first friction between David and Layla in the eighth year of EGB and how, three decades later, they meet again, one of the fundamental visits to the cinema this vacation if you have already reviewed our list of 12 musicals to return to see in summer.
David Serrano, screenwriter of ‘The Other Side of the Bed’ (Emilio Martínez-Lázaro, 2002) and head of ‘Días de Fútbol’ (2003)signs together with Luz Cipriota this comedy with Raúl Arévalo, Karla Souza, Dani Rovira, Raúl Jiménez and Jorge Usón like the adult versions of the characters that we will meet in their most tender adolescence thanks to Izan Fernández, Renata Hermida Richards, Rodrigo Díaz, Rodrigo Gibaja and Michel Herráiz.
Set in Valladolid, the plot is divided into two different moments in time. The first occurs in September 1989, just when David and Layla are starting eighth grade in EGB and they share their love for Hombres G. “They also like each other a lot, but since David is so badly advised by his friends, all the things he does to conquering it always end up being a failure”, points out the official synopsis. “Despite everything, the two become inseparable and get into bigger and bigger trouble, and even sometimes, when they are together, the impulse to sing and dance to the songs of their favorite group is so strong that they start to do it in the middle of the street. And that’s because they’re having a good time. Very good.”
Just over thirty years later, we return to the city of Valladolid to discover that David and Layla haven’t seen each other since the late 1980s but, luckily for us, they haven’t forgotten each other. “Things, at least professionally, could not have gone better for Layla: she is a film director and has won an Oscar. David’s life, on the other hand, has been more normal and he is neither famous nor has he won any awards . Layla returns to the city to receive a tribute and the two will spend a week together. During those days they will no longer sing and dance in the street, but they will realize that the children they were have not disappeared completely. ”
Produced by El Estudio, in association with Sony Pictures International Productions and Hombres G, in co-production with Les Parapluies Rochefort AIE, Paraíso Torres de Satélite and with the participation of Amazon Prime Video Spain and RTVE, ‘I’m going to have a good time’ will be released in cinemas throughout Spain on August 12 from the hand of Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia. After passing through cinemas, the film will be available among the best Spanish films on Amazon Prime Video.
