Since 2019’s The Lion King has just joined the Disney+ catalog, we’re testing your knowledge of remakes of the Mickey’s House classic.
2010 was a decade rich with live-action remakes of Disney animated classics! Thus, many fairy tale princesses associated with the studio came to life on screen, such as Cinderella (Lily James), Belle (Emma Watson), Jasmine (Naomi Scott) or even Mulan (Liu Yifei).
The star animals of our childhood cartoons are not left out either, as Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book or The Lion King were entitled to photorealistic versions. Directed by Jon Favreau, the last two animals created using 3D animation are more real than life.
With 2019’s The Lion King arriving on Disney+ this Friday, July 29th, prove to us you’ve seen every live-action adaptation of the studio’s classic!
If you’re a fan of all these live-action remakes of Disney cartoons, know that the entertainment giant isn’t going to stop there! The live-action version of Pinocchio, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto, is coming soon to Disney+: September 8, 2022.
Followed by Peter Pan and Wendy Jude Law as Captain Hook, The Little Mermaid with Halle Bailey as Ariel or even Snow White with Rachel Zeegler as the heroine in Porcelain Color and Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of Hercules. Sequels to The Jungle Book, Aladdin and Cruella have also been announced, as well as a prequel to Barry Jenkins’ The Lion King. The whole program!
