Specialist indicates the evidence of mental health compromised by Burnout syndrome
The professional exhaustion, classified as burnout, does not present itself from today, that is, it can occur with some indications that are often not perceived before reaching a critical level.
The disease provides signs that can be confused with common fatigue or the passage of stress. Therefore, above all, it is necessary to identify these tests soon to avoid serious impacts on mental health and professional performance!
Burnout symptoms
According to the psychologist Denise Milk, a mental health specialist in the corporate environment, Burnout syndrome manifests itself gradually, with symptoms that are often ignored. “Undoubtedly, people often associate burnout with an intense crisis of anxiety or emotional collapse. However, it begins with thin signs, such as the concentration of difficulty, irritability and constant sense of exhaustion,” he explains.
The psychologist underlines that attention on small changes in behavior can certainly be decisive to avoid a more serious picture. “For example, the first symptom that usually appears is a persistent effort. That is, the person feels tired even after a rest period. This physical and mental usury can directly affect productivity and motivation directly,” says Denise.
Other signs include sudden mood changes, feeling of disability, insomnia and frequent physical symptoms such as muscle pain and migraine. “The body and mind always show signs, but often we choose to ignore them. The problem is that, without adequate attention, the picture evolves and can undoubtedly lead to prolonged authorizations and even more serious psychological disorders such as depression and panic crises”, warns.
Prevention and care
To avoid burnout, Denise Milk recommends setting limits and practicing the car -cure. “Knowing how to say no, better to organize the routine and look for moments of free time are fundamental attitudes to avoid exhaustion. Adequate rest, physical activity and psychological advice are indispensable allies in this process,” he says.
The importance of awareness on the subject must be strengthened. “Many companies do not yet recognize Burnout as a serious problem, and this makes it difficult to create prevention policies. The employee’s well -being should be a priority, since the impact of the burnout is not limited to the individual, but also affects productivity and the work environment as a whole”, he concludes.
With the growing incidence of Burnout in Brazil, experts feel the need for measures that promote a healthy balance between personal and professional life. Identifying the first signs and acting in advance can be the key to avoid the aggravation of the condition and preserve the mental health of workers.
