The American platform AMC + has announced the renewal of science fiction “Moonhaven” for its second season. In a statement, AMC Networks revealed that the attraction has become the most viewed exclusive series on the platform’s streaming service.

The attraction is set 100 years in the future, in a utopian city built on the moon to serve as a model and basis for studies to save humanity. But there is a conspiracy to destroy it, which brings together a skeptic and a local detective in an attempt to prevent a catastrophe.

Created by Peter Ocko, showrunner of “Lodge 49”, the series premiered in early July and ends its first season on Thursday (4/8).

“I couldn’t be more excited to return to the moon and continue our story with this incredible cast and crew,” said Ocko. “AMC + has been a wonderful partner in bringing our world to life and we can’t wait to continue the journey.”

“This is such an engaging and entertaining series, brilliantly conceived and directed by Peter. The story is suspenseful, provocative and prescient and features a phenomenal cast offering compelling performances,” added Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment at AMC Studios and by AMC Reti. “What Peter and the team are creating for season 2 is the next level and fans will be thrilled.”

The cast includes Emma McDonald (“Queens of Mystery”), Dominic Monaghan (“Lost”), Amara Karan (“Lucky Man”), Ayelet Zurer (“Daredevil”), Joe Manganiello (“Magic Mike”), Kadeem Hardison ( “Bounty Hunters”) and Yazzmin Newell (“The Baker Street Irregulars”).

The series is unprecedented in Brazil. Watch the trailer below.
