With intermediate dimensions and production in Paraná, a new Volkswagen pickup will have versions aimed at work and should be launched in 2026
The current Volkswagen Saveiro could have his numbered days. According to the magazine Autoesporte, the truck derived from the goal can come out of the line immediately after the unpublished intermediate truck of Volks. Without a defined name, the unpublished truck is internally known as a VW 247 project (Udara) and should hit the market in 2026. It will be produced in San José Dos Pinhais (PR).
The size of the new pickup will be similar to that of models such as Chevrolet Montana and Renault Oroch’s successor pickup. Since the project is still under development, Volkswagen has used a Tiguan body as a disguise for the new model. One of the possible names for the new pickup is Therion.

In an interview with the automotive guide, the president of Volkswagen Do Brasil, Ciro Possibom, confirmed two new news for the segment in the coming years: the unpublished pickup and the new generation of Amarok. However, the manager said that the brand always seeks evolutions for its products and that there is a tail for the current Saveiro, which is produced in San Bernardo do Campo (SP).
Launched in 2009 and, based on the old objective, Saveiro has won three lifting since then and lives with voices that will go out of line in the coming years. After all, the model focuses on direct sales and is the only model of the brand made in Brazil that does not use the MQB modular platform and is still equipped with the current 109 HP 1.6 Flex engine.

With the launch of the new Udara pickup, the possible end of the production of the current Saveiro would also open the possibility for a new generation of compact Volks truck. On the other hand, the president of America Latina, Alexander Seitz, said that the new intermediate pickup will also have versions focused on work options and heavy consumers looking for a car for personal use.
According to the latest tests of the model in the tests, it will have rear suspension with rigid and soft seed cells, the same solution used by Fiat Strada, leader of sales in Brazil. The choice of the same architecture would be to highlight the robustness of the pick -Up when it is loaded and on more robust soils.

The new intermediate truck of the German brand will be based on T-Cross and should take advantage of the SUV structure. The platform should be the current MQB-A0, which is used by Polo, Virtus, T-Cross, Nivus and Tera. The new Mqb hybrid base, larger and more refined, should not be used by the pickup. The design must have lines inspired by the European SUVs and current Volkswagen pickups.
Under the hood, the new Volks pickup should present the new 150 HP 1.5 TSI engine, which can obtain the help of a 48 V micro-hybrid system, which should contribute to larger power and torque numbers and reduce fuel consumption. The model should also bring versions only to combustion.

The new TSI 1.5 engine will gradually replace the current 1.4 TSI 150 HP with the arrival of the rules of emissions of polluting proconve L8. The difference is that the new engine has characteristics such as deactivation of the cylinder – which helps save fuel – as well as the variable geometric turbo option.
The 48 V micro-hybrid system replaces the alternator and the start-up engine, helping to reduce fuel consumption. The functionality can also “turn off” the combustion engine in some cruise speed situations and is more advanced than the hybrid-light system of the star national models.
The new Volks pickup should also have combustion engine versions. The transmission can be the automated double clutch and the seven -speed DSG or an eight -speed conventional automatic. Other more advanced hybridization levels should subsequently reach other German brand models.
