Solar dishes and pilot project of electric plates were implemented in 2024 on 21 BPM

The military brigade was invited by the South Brazil summit to present the Sustainability and Decarbonisation project implemented in 2024 at the headquarters of the 21st military police battalion (21st BPM), a unit responsible for the surveillance of the South-South of Porto Alegre. The presentation took place on Friday (11), in the state of the state government within the event.

The project consists in the construction of a covered parking with 60 solar plates, the installation of four electric vehicles charging stations in the 21st BPM and the acquisition of electric vehicles and motorcycles for the battalion fleet. The pilot project has been in operation since November 2024. The expectation is that, during the execution, the annual economy will be $ 60 thousand.

The company will be represented by Lieutenant Colonel Hermes Völker, who today manages the ninth battalion of the military police (9th BPM), but was responsible for the implementation of the project in the 21st BPM. During the presentation, details on the project and model that can be used as a model for other public administration institutions will also be used as regards the use of sustainable technologies and the responsible management of public resources.
