Netflix has started tests of a new research tool fed by Openii artificial intelligence. The functionality, in the experimental phase, is offered to a limited group of users in Australia and New Zealand. The information comes from Bloomberg.
The test should be extended early in the United States, but there are still no predictions for other countries or for the launch on different platforms.
How the Turbo survey from artificial intelligence will work
The novelty allows users to search for content using a natural language and more subjective terms – such as emotions, moving states or specific descriptions – rather than dependent on securities, names of actors or genres.
For example, when looking for something like “Sad series” or “light comedy to relax”, the system can suggest more aligned options with mood or intention of the user.
Users with improved experience on Netflix
The CEO of Netflix, Greg Peters, stressed that technical innovation should benefit both users and content creators, facilitating the discovery of works and allowing more ways to tell stories.
At the moment, the new functionality is available only on iOS devices. There is no confirmation of when it will be released to Android or if this happens in the next tests.

Netflix’s artificial intelligence post promises to transform the way you find films appeared for the first time in digital look.
