He was sentenced to 25 years and eight months in prison, with a closed -speed, a man accused of killing his stepchildren of one year and seven months in Porto Alegre. The trial took place on Monday (14), at the jury of the capital. The crime, committed by asphyxia and surprise, took place in April 2016 in the Restinga district, south of the city. The defendant was reported by the public service of Rio Grande do Sul (Mprs) and has already had another sentence for attempted murder against the victim’s sister.




According to the prosecutor Vinicius de Melo Lima, who acted in case, the child was asphyxiated after liquid power supply aspiration. The doctor who participated in the accident reported that he had found a dark liquid, similar to chocolate milk, on the girl’s airways, who arrived lifeless at the nursing hospital. The MPRS has already filed an appeal to request the increase in the sentence imposed on the prisoner.

The investigations revealed that the accused acted for revenge against his companion and mother of the children, using his daughters – the result of other relationships – such as the objectives. The previous sentence of the accused, 16 years old for attempted murder against the other stepdaughter, has already become definitive, becoming definitive. The case strengthens the seriousness of domestic violence against children and the devastating impact of the aggression committed in the family environment itself.
