A cult film, a true symbol of feminism, Thelma and Louise has been around for over three decades. Last year, the 30th anniversary of the road movie starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis was celebrated with a special drive-in screening in Los Angeles, followed by a question-and-answer session. An event that surprised Thelma’s interpreter.
“Women’s reaction to this show was so strong, I’ve never seen anything like it before”Gina Davis said The comments were reported by Variety. “It made me think about how little opportunity women have to see a film that allows them to feel empowered by a female character.
“It was really fun to be able to do something interesting for women, interesting actors.”said screenwriter Kali Khurr, winner of the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Thelma and Louise. “After writing this movie, I just wanted one thing: for an actor to read the script and say, ‘Oh my God, I have to play this part.’
