‘Ms Marvel’ creates a potential script hole in ‘Endgame’ and its time travel

Have the rules of time travel been broken in the MCU?

    Spoilers for ‘Ms. Marvel’ below

The main screenwriter of the ‘Ms. Marvel’, Bisha K Ali, has addressed whether or not the Disney + series has broken the rules of time travel established by ‘Avengers: Endgame’. In ‘Endgame’, Bruce Banner/Smart Hulk tells us that you can’t change the past by going back to the past, but things seem to be different in ‘Ms Marvel’.

In episode five, ‘Time After Time’, Kamala Khan returns to the night her great-grandmother, Aisha, went missing during the Partition of India.

Aisha sends Kamala to help guide her daughter, Sana, to reunite with her father to ensure her survival. So Kamala was able to change the past? Talking with CinemaBlendAli explained that the rules set forth in ‘Endgame’ have since been expanded upon by another Disney+ show, ‘Loki,’ and those are the rules that ‘Ms. Marvel’.

Yeah, we were aware of the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ rules where you can’t go back as a consistent way… However, between ‘Endgame’ and ‘Ms. Marvel’, another little show called ‘Loki’ came along, which was largely about figuring out how time might work. I think it wouldn’t have caused a Nexus event due to its inevitability. So it was a closed circuit. That’s what happens… And it was also the fact that a Nexus event is caused by… You know who? If I say it I will be reprimanded by Marvel or by the fans. (we understand you mean Kang)

But I will say this, it made a lot of sense to me and fit into the logic of what was established in the ‘Loki’ TVA, which seemed like the final decision about time in the MCU, I think.

Ali also recently cleared up the confusion surrounding the nature of Brie Larson’s surprising appearance as ‘Captain Marvel’ in the post-credits of ‘Ms. Marvel’, confirming to dead line that Kamala had not transformed into Carol.

What you are seeing is exactly what you think you are seeing. That’s her, no magic there. All I can say beyond that is enjoy ‘The Marvels’ a year from now.

Both the first season of ‘Ms. Marvel’ and ‘Avengers Endgame’ are available on Disney+.
