British actor Taron Egerton recently revealed why he turned down the role of Han Solo, the iconic character of the “Star Wars” saga on the big screen.

Taron Egerton recently revealed why he turned down the role of Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse. Today, the British actor, starring in the Apple series Blackbird, opens the curtain on another role that he said no to, not just any, as the legendary hero of the Star Wars saga made popular by Harrison Ford, Han Solo.

“I’ll be honest, I was on the Millennium Falcon. I was with Chewie. I was in full Han Solo costume.”– says Taron Egerton In the Happy Sad Confused podcast. I went there, I did it, I lived it. But I just wasn’t feeling it. I just didn’t feel like I was Han Solo.”

“There was a second round of auditions that I decided not to go to”concludes the 32-year-old actor, known for his role in the Kingsman saga and his interpretation of Elton John in Rocketman. “It’s far enough along now that I’d say so. I hope it doesn’t bother anyone.”

After all, Alden Ehrenreich has been cast as the intergalactic smuggler in Solo: A Star Wars Story, a feature film centered around the character’s youth, set to hit theaters in 2018.
