Goosebumps is a series adapted from RL Stine’s young adult novels by Stine himself! The result is faithfulness to the original material, and we are happy to find in the animated images the stories we imagined while reading the books.
Goosebumps is an anthology that most often includes a single episode. Netflix welcomes 13 episodes mostly from the first season, enough to get the family excited in front of their screens! Because this selection of episodes is diverse, we offer both stories of pure fear along with others that focus more on atmosphere and feelings.
It is this mix of genres that allows the series to not fall into the routine and keeps the young audience attentive and demanding more!
What will they like?
- It’s always fun to face your fears, especially when they are reasonable and based – most often – on fantasy-tinged stories that make everything easier to “digest” when we “sleep in the dark”.
- Heroes are children or adults who manage to overcome their fears. It’s enough for a small audience to be brave.
What might be bothering them:
- Each episode is clearly scary and has at least an element of horror, which can vary from creatures at summer camp to a mummy, to a stressful situation (a child who sees his hair growing, a father of a family no longer leaving the basement to experiment, etc.).
- The episode The Maleficent Puppet is particularly frightening, though based on a well-worn premise. It’s better to be around the young audience.
- If your child wants to play the piano, skip the piano lessons and the Death Trap episode!
