Disney + has released the poster and trailer for “Cars on the Road”, a spin-off series from Pixar’s “Cars” franchise. The preview features new characters and references to “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
The plot follows Lightning McQueen and her best friend Mater on a journey through the countryside to meet Mater’s sister. But along the way, they encounter many unexpected adventures.
The actors Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy, who voiced the two central characters of the films, return to reprise their roles in the animated series, in the English version.
“The series is a nationwide game with Lightning McQueen and Mater,” said director Steve Purcell. “Like any real journey, every day is a new mini-adventure with unexpected twists.”
“Cars on the Road” is directed by Steve Purcell (writer-director of “Brave”), Bobby Podesta (animator of “Cars”) and Brian Fee (writer-director of “Cars 3”).
The premiere will take place on September 8, in streaming.
