China evaluates to start negotiations with the United States on the commercial war

Beijing says that studying the American proposal to start dialogue, but asks for the cancellation of unilateral rates and the change of posture of Washington

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce declared on Friday 02 (local time), which is evaluating a United States proposal to start conversations on the commercial war between the two main world economies.

“The United States recently took the initiative on several opportunities for transmission of information in China through the relevant parts, saying they expected to speak with China,” said the ministry.

“China is currently evaluating this,” he added.

The President of the United States Donald Trump imposed rates up to 145% for many imports of the Asian giant, which represented rates of 125% on the products purchased by the US country.

Since then, Trump has repeated on several occasions that Chinese authorities had contacted to establish commercial negotiations. Wednesday 1, the Republican said that there were “many good possibilities” to reach an agreement.

But Beijing denied that there are ongoing conversations and asked Washington to dialogue “fair, respectful and mutual”. Other times, the Asian country said he was willing to fight until the end in a commercial war.

“If the United States want to speak, they must demonstrate their sincerity to be willing to correct their incorrect practices and cancel the unilateral rates,” added the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in a note.

“In any dialogue or possible negotiation, if the American part does not correct their incorrect unilateral tariff measures, this will only show that there is no sincerity, further compromising mutual trust between the two parts,” he said.
