Filming of the 10-episode dramedy “Actresses” has started in Moscow – a joint project of Valery Todorovsky’s Studio, “NMG Studio” and Plus Studio. The series was directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk, the script was written by Paulina Andreeva, who, together with Alexei Kiselev, is also the showrunner of the series. The digital premiere of the series will take place in 2023 on the Wink and Kinopoisk video services.
The main roles are played by Svetlana Khodchenkova, Sergey Gilev, Elena Nikolaeva, Polina Pushkaruk and Alexei Makarov. Production is carried out by Sergey Bondarchuk and Alexey Kiselyov’s Video Rental Studio, as well as the team of the first series of Fyodor Bondarchuk’s “Psych”: director of photography Yuri Nikogosov, composer Igor Vdovin and others. Filming takes place in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as in one of the main theaters of the country – the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.
“Actresses” is a story that will destroy the audience’s ideas about the life of actors and let the audience into their real life with their fears, desires and goals. It will become clear how those who are used to being thought of as carefree people actually live. And as in the acting profession – how little in any other – the one who yesterday was everything, tomorrow can become nobody. 10 episodes will be divided into three acts, between which three years will pass, which will make it possible to trace the fate of the heroes in time.

For an actor to play an actor is probably one of the most difficult tasks that can only be in a career, it is much easier to hide behind an image that is far from you and live in it, – said Svetlana Khodchenkova. – Here I feel that I give the heroine a lot of myself, and I’m even scared of it. This has its own complexity, but working on the character of the heroine is doubly interesting.
At first, it was even scary: I was not closely acquainted with Fedor Sergeevich, I did not know what to expect from the project, – said Sergey Gilev. – But then we all gathered for a reading, and it became not scary, but good and fun. And the first shift passed, and everything was perfect on it. We’ll see how it goes, but it will definitely be interesting.
