Barroso states that the powers differ from the interpretation of the rules of the amendments, but there is no friction

Stf president Hugo Motta praised and said nobody would give “elbow” to anyone

Brasilia and New York – The president of the Supreme Court (Stf), Luis Roberto Barroso, denied that there are friction of the Court with the legislator and have said that conflicts are “institutionally absorbed”. He said that there are still disagreements on the rules for parliamentary amendments, but only as regards the interpretation of how the rules work in consent between the powers.

The comments were made during the 2nd edition of the Brazil-US summit, held by Economic Valor. Barroso stressed that he wrote “by hand” the consensus reached on the subject in August last year, during the meeting held between the then mayor, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), and the then President Senate Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG).

When asked about the “elbows” with the congress, Barroso praised the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), present at the event. “An elegant person like Hugo Motta does not bring anyone to the elbow, Eo I’m erusted.

The minister also stated that “it is not easy to regulate artificial intelligence from the speed of transformation” and, in its evaluation, these transformations also increase the power of the judiciary, which is invited to act in the event of an omission of the legislator.

“The world is traveling to a speed that makes it difficult to keep up with what is happening. This also increases the power of the judiciary, because the congress, legislatures in general, due to their need to compose different opinions, cannot always legislate in time, but the problems arise and we must solve.”
