Thursday, the Israeli military attacks killed at least 60 people in the Gaza Strip, said the Palestinian doctors, while the United States and Arab mediators take an agreement of ceased fire and the president of the United States Donald Trump visit to the Middle East.
Most of the victims, including women and children, were killed in Khan, in the south of Gaza in air attacks that hit houses and curtains, they said.
Among the dead was the local journalist Hassan Samour, who worked for the Aqsa radio station managed by Hamas, and was killed with 11 family members when his house was hit, according to the doctors.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army, who intensified their offensive to Gaza while trying to eradicate Hamas in retaliation of the mortal attacks that the Palestinian militant group performed against Israel in 2023.
Hamas declared in a declaration that Israel was making a “desperate attempt to negotiate underground coverage”, since indirect interviews of ceased between Israel and Hamas occurred, involving Trump and Qatar and Egypt mediators in Doha.
Israel carried out the last attacks of the day when the Palestinians mark “Nakba”, or catastrophe, when hundreds of thousands of people fled or were forced to escape from their national cities and villages during the 1948 war in the Middle East, which gave rise to the state of Israel.
With most of the 2.3 million people in Gaza internally displaced, some residents of the small enclave say that suffering is bigger now than at Nakba.
“What we are experiencing now is even worse than 1948 Nakba,” said Ahmed Hamad, Palestinian from the city of Gaza who has been churned out several times.
“The truth is that we live in a constant state of violence and movement. Wherever we go, we face the attacks. Death surrounds us everywhere.”
The Palestinian health authorities say that Israeli attacks have increased since Trump started a visit to the states of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, which many Palestinians expected that he used to press for a respite.
The latest attacks occur after the attacks on Gaza on Wednesday who killed at least 80 people, local health officials.
