The strokes of the plot are a narrative technique used to capture abruptly and introduce new conflicts, contexts or revelations. Some of these twists and turns occur only at the end, but they can occur everywhere in the history of a film.
However, these twists and turns do not always have the expected result. And certainly a scarcely planned or poorly performed turning point can damage the entire experience of a film. In some cases, the turn of the plot can leave a negative impression, regardless of how good the film has been until then.
8 STAPS OF FILMS that irritated the public
One of the most common experiences when you watch certain movies for the first time is to open your mouth when a great revelation happens. The best twists and turns make us reflect in totally new ways on the implications and subtleties of the narrative.
Unfortunately, this technique does not always work as expected. For each turn of the impact plot that we meet, there are an infinitely larger number of twists and turns that do not work – see some below with spoiler.
Memories (2010)
This film tells the story of Tyler (Robert Pattinson), whose brother has recently committed suicide, and Ally (Emilie de Ravin), who witnessed the death of his still very young mother. After finding each other, they expect a relationship to help in the healing process.
In general, the “memories” take place as a standard love story, however, this romantic drama is set in New York in 2001. Twist of the plot, revealed in the last moments of the film, shows Tyler at the World Trade Center on the morning of September 11.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Almost two decades after her latest adventure, Dr. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is involved in another search for a precious artifact.
This time, it is a skull made of quartz and, since they believe it has special powers, Jones must make sure the object does not fall into the wrong hands.
However, the revelation that the famous crystal skull belonged to interdimensional alien archaeologists was unhappy. Although the franchise had already deepened in the supernatural and fantastic in previous films, the extraterrestrials were a bit too much for the public.

Master Trick (2013)
A group of four illusionists, known as The Four Knights (Isla Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Dave Franco), becomes a great success with their shows, impressing the audience with magical tricks. In the meantime, an FBI agent determined to export them, Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), investigates the group as suspicion in various thefts.
The great revelation of this film is that Rhodes did not intend to stop the group and that, in fact, it was the mind behind everything. Rhodes admitted that he had sought revenge, since he was the son of Lionel Shrike, a famous magician who had been unmasked.

Planet of the Apes (2001)
In the year 2029, the astronaut Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) embarked on a rescue mission to save a chimpanamic lost in space.
After entering a hole in the worm, Davidson falls on a strange planet, inhabited by highly intelligent speakers and monkeys. Pressed together with other humans, Davidson needs to find allies on the hostile planet and go home.
Although it was a commercial success, this remake is more remembered by its terrible ending, which shows Davidson who returns to a planet Earth for the monk.
The film was an attempt by director Tim Burton to rekindle the interest in the franchise, but had an unsatisfactory and confused result for many fans and is considered a bad attempt to regain the innovative surprise of the end of the original.

The Village (2004)
This film is located in an isolated village that seems to be from the nineteenth century. The inhabitants of the community obey a simple but rigid rule: none of them can venture into the forest around them, all for fear of strange creatures who threaten their lives.
Director M. Night Shyamalan incorporates a turn of the plot in almost all his scripts and this film is no exception.
Unfortunately, the turnaround of this story has not fascinated the public. In the end, it turns out that the village exists today, created in a reserve.
While most of the people who live there were not aware of the truth, others used fantasies to go through forest creatures and keep the narrative.

007 Against Specter (2015)
This turn of the plot made important changes in the history of James Bond and had an impact not only on the film itself, but during the franchise.
Believing that Blofeld (Christoph Waltz) was dead, Bond (Daniel Craig) discovered that his archanemus was secretly his adopted-Con brother who had lost contact a long time ago.
The forced connection between brothers did not seem to make sense in general, but the main reason why this turning point was so serious is that she had not offered anything to the plot. If the turn of the plot was removed, the final result of the film would not be influenced: Bond still saved the day and Blofeld was arrested.

The Seer (2007)
This film tells the story of Cris Johnson (Nicolas Cage), a man who could see the future. Her visions were limited to two minutes before, with the exception of a vision that had a woman who entered a cafeteria.
Not knowing any detail beyond time, he goes to the canteen twice a day to wait for his arrival, which in the end happens.
After a journey involving the FBI and a group of terrorists, Cris and Elizabeth have been in a crossroads. As with many action films, Cris has to disable a bomb and successfully makes it.
However, in one of the most frustrating examples of the arch “it was all a dream”, the bomb exploded and destroyed a part of the city. This reveals that Cris and Elizabeth were still in a Motel room.
Therefore, the temporal sequence of a whole day is reversed, making the events of the last part of the film are only a vision of Cris.

Hancock (2008)
John Hancock (Will Smith) is one of the most hated men in Los Angeles, but he is also a superhero. Its name became synonymous with alcoholism and destructive behavior.
After being saved by Hancock, the advertiser Ray Ambrea (Jason Batman) believes he can clean the hero’s image and transform it into the icon that should be.
The turn of the plot is that Hancock’s wife is also a superhero and, moreover, she has been her partner for over 3,000 years.
The protagonist does not remember the past due to a wound that he suffered in the head years earlier. According to the public, this turning point was shocked near the reflection that the film makes on productions with superheroes.
