Flutter Brazil: the betting giant arrives in the country

Summary

Flutter Entertainment acquired 56% of NSX Brasil for 350 million US dollars, creating Brazil Fluter, which combines Betnational and Betfair Brazil to explore the promising regulated betting market in Brazil, with a projection of 220 million dollars in revenue in 2025.

Flutter Entertainment, a global sports and igaming betting operator, concluded the acquisition of 56% of Brazil Brazil Brazil, owner of Betnacional, for about 350 million dollars. From this union Fluter Brazil was born, a new betting ecosystem that brings together the brands Betnacional and Betfair Brazil, combining the local force of NSX with the global flutter competence.

The merger marks the creation of a power in the sector in a strategic moment: the beginning of the official regulation of betting bets in Brazil. With over 200 million inhabitants and a vibrant sports culture, the country has become one of the most promising markets in the world for online betting. The average annual growth of 38% of gross revenues from 2018 – reaching $ 3 billion by 2023 – demonstrates the potential of the segment.

The operation strengthens the presence of the two brands in the country. By 2023, NSX held 12% of the sports betting market and 9% of the total online market. Already Betfair Brasil closed 2024 with $ 69 million revenue. The joint projection for 2025 is an increase of 220 million dollars of revenue only in Brazil.

“The merger with Flutter marks a new chapter in our history. We combine the scope and identity of bethown with the global Flutter competence to create an even more solid, connected and prepared operation for the future”, says João Studart, CEO of Flutter Brazil.

The new company will be led by its technological platform developed in Brazil, in addition to the international structure of Flutter, called Flutter Edge. This combination should generate operational synergies and increase competitiveness in the regulated market.

Despite the acquisition of the majority, the command of the Brazilian operation will continue in the hands of the founders of NSX, preserving the national DNA of the brand. The management will be carried out carefully to the local market, maintaining proximity to the public and alignment with the rules of the new Brazilian law.

The agreement also provides that Fluter acquires the remaining 44% of NSX in the coming years, further consolidating its presence in the country. With the closure of the transaction, Flutter Brazil will join the International Flutter Entertainment segment, strengthening its ambition to guide the sector in one of the most dynamic and culturally relevant markets in the world.
