The United States assumes legal responsibility for an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear structures, said the Araqchi foreign minister on Thursday after a CNN report that Israel could prepare attacks on Iran.
Iran and the United States, the strictest ally of Israel, will hold a fifth round of nuclear negotiations on Friday in Rome, in a profound disagreement on the enrichment of uranium in Iran, which, according to Washington, could lead to the development of nuclear bombs. Iran denies this intention.
Quoting sources of intelligence, the CNN reported Tuesday that it was not clear if Israel had made a final decision on military action and that the US authorities did not agree with him the Israelis ended up deciding to attack.
“Iran feels vehemently any adventure of the Zionist regime of Israel and will definitely be for any threat or illegal act of this regime,” Araqchi said to a letter addressed to the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres.
Araqchi declared that Iran would see Washington as a “participant” in any attack of this type, and Tehran should have adopted “special measures” to protect their structures and nuclear materials if the threats continued and the international agency for atomic energy, the supervision body, would be subsequently informed about these measures.
Although Araqchi did not specify what measures were taken into consideration, a consultant of the Iranian supreme leader declared in April that Tehran could suspend cooperation with Aiea or transfer material enriched in safe and revealed places.
In a separate declaration issued on Thursday, the revolutionary guard of Iran Elite warned that Israel would receive a “devastating and decisive response” if he attacked Iran.
“They are trying to scare us with the war, but they are calculating the evil, since they are not aware of the powerful popular and military support that the Islamic Republic can gather in war conditions,” said the spokesman for the guard alimohammad Nani.
A collapse of the negotiations between the United States and Iran or a new nuclear agreement that does not relieve Israeli concerns for the development of nuclear weapons by Iran through enrichment could motivate Israeli attacks on its regional architect, according to diplomats.
Tuesday, the Iranian Supreme leader atiatollah Ali Khamenei said that the United States asks to stop doing Tehran to perfect the uranium are “excessive and scandalous” and have expressed doubts about the success of the negotiations of a new nuclear agreement.
Tehran states that his nuclear energy program is exclusively for civil purposes.
Iran and Israel were involved in direct shooting shots last year in April and October, increasing the risk of regional conflicts.
