Trump X Moraes: it cannot be admitted that foreigners surround domestic jurisdiction, says Gilmar

Minister Gilmar Mendes, dean of the Supreme Court (Stf), declared Thursday 22 that Brazil cannot admit the reduction of “national jurisdiction” by “foreign agents”.

The event comes after the threats of sanction by the United States government to Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

“Regulatory autonomy represents imperative of democratic self -determination,” wrote the Minister in Publication in X.

On Wednesday, the United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that “there is a great possibility that Alexandre De Moraes is the goal of the sanctions by the government of Donald Trump.

Not to expressly mention the episode, Gilmar Mendes also argued that “depends on each state, through its institutional apparatus, to safeguard the democratic precepts”.

“The Brazilian experience has shown in recent years that the cameras and extremist events corrode the republican foundations,” added Dean.

Moraes had already been attacked by the United States Department of State – an agency equivalent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – in February, after decreasing Block X and Rumble, two US platforms in the Brazilian territory.

At the time, the State Department published on social networks according to which the minister’s decisions are “incompatible with democratic values”. The post was shared by the American embassy in Brazil.

In addition, Rumble and Trump Media, linked to the President of the United States, sued the Minister in front of the United States.

Moraes reacted at the time and held a speech to the Supreme Court in defense of Brazil’s sovereignty and against “imperialism”. This time, the minister keeps silence on the offensive.
