There is a real possibility that this is the case. I don’t know if he would fly the ship, but could the character leave? Even as a fan, I find John Wick’s world fun and interesting. But the sky is the limit. We don’t come from an existing IP, so I don’t have to follow Batman tradition. I can do everything.
Having a franchise based on an original idea allows for endless storytelling possibilities, so John Wick could take the action to the stars. I mean yes Fast & Furious can send Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson into space in a powerful machine, the legendary hitman can certainly take down enemies in a spacesuit. Of course, Keanu Reeves may have to make the journey on his own, as Chad Stahelski questions his own future with the action franchise.
Despite this, Chad Stahelski still looks ready to continue his work with the popular action series. He said he and his fellow producers “could continue to be smart” by making sure they get “the right people to move forward” long after he quits his behind-the-scenes job. So pretty much anything can happen, both in front of and behind the camera, but Stahelski also noted that the title character “will stay grounded” for now.
Thinking about what the series could be is almost as fascinating as thinking about what it almost was. Producer Basil Iwanyk said so john wick it would look very different, as the character was originally conceived as a 75-year-old retired hitman. The studio even considered gruff Hollywood veterans Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford for the role before Keanu Reeves signed.
