Disney+ has brought big changes to the MCU, as most of the new characters are no longer introduced to the world through blockbusters on the big screen, but instead begin their adventures on the streaming service. These include Moon Knight with Oscar Isaac lending his features to Mark Spector, a man living with dissociative identity disorder and thus multiple personalities inside his head. He is also an avatar of the Egyptian god Khonshu.
The series ended with Mark Spector breaking free from Khonshu and defeating the villain Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke). At the same time, he sees his wife Leila (May Kalamavi) become a scarlet scarab. While most of the season focused on Mark Spector and Stephen Grant (his alter ego), a post-credits scene revealed that the brutal Jake Lockley—Mark Spector’s secret third identity—still serves Khonshu.
After this cliffhanger, many fans wondered when a Season 2 would be confirmed, but as with other Disney+ series, Marvel Studios was reluctant to confirm a renewal. While only Loki has been confirmed for the new season so far, the Moon Knight team has clearly hinted at a renewal.
A TikTok user shared a video with Mohamed Diab – the director of Moon Knight – and Oscar Isaac, in which they semi-announce the long-awaited Season 2. Then the director shared the video on Twitter:

It is unclear what the intention behind this video is. Oscar Isaac and Mohamed Diab confirm a second season is in the works? Or are they campaigning with Marvel and Disney for a renewal? Their presence in Cairo shows that they are not just there to spend their holidays…
When Disney’s D23 takes place next month, it’s possible that a small group will travel to Egypt to shoot a short video to announce what’s coming next month. Marvel Studios is expected to make several announcements at the event, and there’s still room to finish Phase 6.
If that were the case, and Moon Knight Season 2 was released during The Multiverse Saga, it would likely premiere in 2025 during Phase 6, as Phases 4 and 5 have been completed. It may seem like a long time, but maybe Mark Spector will show up somewhere else before season two.
Moon Knight is expected to return in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Secret Wars, though his first season didn’t have any direct MCU connections.
