What does Leo Les’ defense say

“The defense of the humorist Leo Les received, on this date, with great surprise, the publication of the sentence that imposed on him a sentence of 8 years, 3 months and 9 days of imprisonment, in closed regime, in addition to the payment of R $ 303,600.00 as collective moral damage.

It is a sad chapter for the freedom of expression in Brazil, in the face of a condemnation equivalent to censorship.

Seeing a humor condemned to penalties equivalent to those applied to crimes such as drug trafficking, corruption or murder, for alleged jokes on stage, causes us a profound concern.

Despite this episode, we maintain full confidence in the national judiciary, which has often been called to guarantee individual rights and freedoms.

The defense informs that the competent appeal will interpose and it will trust that this injustice will be repaired secondly. “
