Formula 1 and FIA announce the F1 2026 World Cup calendar calendar

The 2026 calendar brings changes and conflicts with other categories of world motorsport

Formula 1 and Fia have officially announced the Formula 1 World Cup calendar for next year. The season will present 24 passages, in addition to 2025, a record for the category. The Grand Prix of Imola leaves the calendar for the entry of a second GP into Spain, Madrid, which takes place from 11 to 13 September.

The season begins with the Australian Grand Prix, between 6 and 8 March, and ends with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, from 4 to 6 December. Due to Ramadan, who in 2026 will take place between February and March, the GPS of Bahrein and Saudi was reprogrammed in April.

One of the main logistical changes was the reorganization of the steps, in order to reduce the costs for the teams and also the travel time. The Canada Grand Prix, for example, was anticipated from 22 to 24 May and will be held shortly after the Miami GP. This change brings a conflict with another category of World Motorsport, since the GP takes place on the same weekend as the 500 miles of Indianapolis, in conflict directly at the time of both categories. It will be the first time in the story that this will happen.

The European section of the season will become more compact, starting from Monaco (5-7 June) and ends in Spain, where Madrid will make his debut in the F1 calendar between 11 and 13 September. In the European season, we could have another conflict of dates, since the traditional 24 hours of Leman often take place in mid -June, directly in conflict with the Grand Prix of Barcelona.

After the Spanish phase, the championship returns to Asia, with races in Azerbaijan and Singapore. Then there will be a triple sequence in the Americas, before closing the steps in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, commented:

“2026 will be the beginning of a new era in Formula 1, with a new series of sports regulations, including motor cars and engines.

We are excited to receive Madrid on the calendar and see big car brands such as Audi, Cadillac and Ford join the category. “
