In June, information surfaced that singer and actress Lady Gaga was in talks to join the cast of “Joker: Folie à Deux”. Now, Gaga herself has confirmed her information with a short video posted on her social networks.
In addition to confirming her participation in the film, the publication of Lady Gaga confirms the release date of the film, which was distributed by Deadline magazine, for October 4, 2024.
Despite confirming participation, the Lady Gaga release does not say which character will live on. However, the initial information was that she would play Harley Quinn, a character who is in a relationship with the Joker in the comics and who is played in the DC Extended Universe by Margot Robbie.
The video posted by Gaga could also refer to the title of the film, “Folie à Deux”, a French expression that means, in free translation, something like “Madness for Two”, which suggests that Joaquin Phoenix’s character will likely have l help from someone else in his new solo production. This “someone” is likely to be Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn, although this is not yet confirmed.
After confirmation, we know that “Joker: Folie à Deux” will be released in theaters on October 4, 2024.
