Cinepixar announces Gatto, new animation of Luca’s creators

Set on the streets and channels of Venice, Gatto follows the journey of Nero, a nice black cat in love with music

Pixar has officially unveiled on Friday, June 13, its new animated feature film during Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2025 in France. Entitled Gattothe film will be directed by Enrico Casarosaknown as Lucaand produced by Andrea Warren.

Set on the streets and channels of Venice, Gatto Accompanies Nero’s journey, a nice black cat in love with music. Despite his charisma, Nero faces the prejudice of the city’s residents because of the superstitions associated with their color. In the midst of this scenario, he starts to question his own way of life.

The plot gains more dramatic contours when Nero finds himself indebted to a local feline head. Forced to make difficult choices, he ends up forming an unlikely friendship that can lead him to discover his true purpose-unless Venice’s dark and enigmatic side consumes him before.

Visually, the feature promises to delight with a style that refers to hand painted art, as revealed in the first official image of the project. The project marks a return to the Italian roots of Casarosawhich was born in Genoa, a city located at the opposite end of Venice.

For now, the Pixar still keeps other details about other details Gattoas names of the cast cast and other members of the creative team. The debut is scheduled for mid -2027.
