Illustrator and cartoonist Gerald Scarfe recalls that everything was created very quickly because of the deadlines – and that the art of the wall was born curiously




The wall (1979) became one of the most famous albums of Pink Floyd Not only for music, but also for several factors that surrounded him. Some examples include cover, internal projects, concepts, promotional shows and the following film.



Speaking in particular of the drawing that illustrates the cover, the large officer recalls the unusual way he was born. The illustrator and cartoonist Gerald Scarfe achieved the minimalist art of The wall In the kitchen of the bassist and singer house Roger Waters.

“I had to create all the characters – the wives, the mother, the teacher and all these half -art figures – very quickly because the album was leaving.”
